Quinta do Romeu Reserva White 2014

Vinification

Manual harvest into small boxes. Manual selection of the clusters on the sorting table. Complete stalk removal followed by gentle pressing. Cold static decantation for 48 hours. Alcoholic fermentation made partially in 500 liter Austrian oak barrels with light toast and the rest instainless steel vats with temperature control between 15ºC and 20ºC for approximately 15 days. Aging on fine lees with regular batonnage until mid-May.

Grapes
Mixture of traditional Douro grapes: Gouveio Real, Viosinho, Arinto, Rabigato and a field blend of old varieties. Organically grown.

Colour
Brilliant citrine.

Aroma
Young with good intensity and complexity. Stand out aromas of ripe tree fruits (like apple, peach and quince), fresh tropical fruits (passion fruit, pineapple) and floral. Slight mineral touch that gives it personality.

Taste
Dry. Creamy attack. Good volume in mouth revealing its fruity character, now enhanced with a citrus component. It is a fresh, complex and deep wine with a persistent finish.

Serving
Should be appreciated at a temperature between 12ºC to 14ºC.
